On 23rd April 14:00 - 16:00

At Tavistock Guildhall Court Gate Tavistock PL19 0AE

The South Devon and Tavistock Railway Company opened on the 21st of June 1859. It offered a railway service from Plymouth to Tavistock and this was extended to reach Launceston in 1865. Subsequent demolition has left a few traceable remains of this once-important rail link. On 2nd June 1890 the Plymouth, Devonport and South Western Junction Railway opened offering a link to London.

Join Stephen and Claire Fryer for a visit to both of these railway sites. The walk will be approximately 2 hours over reasonably level terrain including remnants of the old railbed. Please wear suitable footwear and be prepared for whatever the weather forecast for the day.
