Tavistock’s 19th Century Buildings by eminent architects 10th August

Remodelling Tavistock began in the early 19th century under the instruction of the Dukes of Bedford. Throughout the coming Victorian era architects of international, national and local acclaim were commissioned to design civic buildings, schools, housing, public buildings and churches creating a diverse, and fashionable range of styles which create the character of the town. The 90- minute, level walk will visit their buildings, explain their design approach and introduce the architects as personalities.

The walk commences at 2.00 pm from outside the Tavistock Visitor Information Centre in Guildhall Square and lasts for 90 minutes.

Tickets are £5 per person
