Discover Tavistock - Lost Pubs and Breweries of Tavistock

In the mid-19th century, at the height of the mining boom, Tavistock boasted two breweries and some 29 public houses, of which only five are trading in Tavistock town centre in 2023. This very popular 1 mile, 90 minute predominantly flat walk will identify past hostelries and breweries and explore their place in the rich history of Tavistock. The tour will end at one of the town’s late 19th century public house establishments, which will be open for the thirsty and curious.
